Serving our community is a crucial part of our values and will always be essential to our culture. We’ve worked with and supported organizations and non-profits throughout the DC metro area for more than 50 years because the heart of our mission is to build success for all. This year we continued to provide outreach with our partners, and we worked to further relationships with organizations like the American Heart Association, the Pentagon Memorial Fund, and more.

We’re proud to have a continued impact throughout the DC metro area with our active involvement and support of the following charities, nonprofits, and fundraising events. In addition to financial contributions and extensive in-kind donations, our employees and interns volunteered their time to over 75 organizations and philanthropic initiatives in 2021.

American Heart Association

We have been a proud partner of the American Heart Association for 11 years, and we took that partnership a step further this year with our participation in the AHA Greater Washington Heart Walk fundraising event in support of the fight against heart disease and stroke. Our team collected 247 donations and raised over $60K for AHA! DAVIS’ Mike Pittsman joined the Executive Leadership Team for this year’s Heart Walk.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington

This year, we brought nearly $1M of new enhancements to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington’s (BGCGW) headquarters location, including new staff offices, technology improvements, and more. Our employees also donated school supplies to BCGCW and volunteered to help their Clubhouse 14 and Germantown club clean up and prepare for fall programs.

Calvary Women’s Services

We continue to support Calvary Women’s Services through financial, pro bono, in-kind and volunteer services with DAVIS’ Kara Mele serving on the Board of Directors. This local organization empowers homeless women in DC to transform their lives through housing, health, education, and employment programs.

DAVIS Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Our eighth Annual Charity Golf Tournament took place in September with 136 participants representing over 30 long-time partners and subcontractors. With the help of generous sponsors, we raised over $50K this year. This year, the proceeds were donated to a special DAVIS partner, the Pentagon Memorial Fund, a fund that supports the construction of a visitor education center that provides a space for people to gather and learn more about the September 11, 2001 attacks and their impact on the country.

Jubilee Housing

We were proud to work with our long-time friends at Jubilee Housing again this year. We provided back-to-school supplies through Jubilee’s Back to School Store initiative and volunteered for the Elf Store, providing children of Jubilee Housing the opportunity to buy gifts for their families at a significantly reduced cost. Our employees volunteered their time, and as an organization, we donated gifts to the store. These gifts provided Jubilee families with daily necessities, including bedding, canned goods, toiletries, and more.

Nourish Now

For the fourth consecutive year, we partnered with local Montgomery County nonprofit Nourish Now. Along with company-wide food collection and donation, our volunteers spent a day packaging holiday meals with Nourish Now team members in November. Leading up to the holidays, we donated turkeys to families in need. The organization’s mission is to alleviate hunger in Montgomery County by collecting unused fresh food and redistributing it to dedicated food donors throughout the area. Through their work, they can feed thousands of residents each year.

Samaritan Inns Fundraising Breakfast

For the eighth year, President and CEO Jim Davis teamed up with Mike Alto, Senior Vice President of Clark Construction Group, to co-host the Samaritan Inns fundraising breakfast, held at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. In partnership with Clark Construction Group, we raised over $50,000 for the organization. Samaritan Inns provides services, rehabilitation programs, and shelter for people and their families recovering from addiction and homelessness.
