Christian Fellowship Church
2020 ABC Metro Washington Excellence in Construction Award, Institutional
Christian Fellowship Church (CFC), an independent, nondenominational church, has served Northern Virginia since 1977, and their ministries reach across the world. As they planned to make a move to a brand new building, CFC needed a trustworthy building team that could work effectively, adapt to any challenge, and simplify the process. They chose DAVIS, and we took on the challenge.
CFC’s new building is located in One Loudoun, a lifestyle community with shops, restaurants, and culture—a perfect place for them to call home. We built them 1,000-seat worship space, office space, and a two-level education wing, to create one of the most impressive institutional buildings in the metro area—all under budget and ahead of schedule!
The room feels just right.
The brand new worship space is an especially unique one—the 40-foot high ceiling and steel stadium seating structure create a larger-than-life feeling for those inside and viewing CFC services online. We even built in strict acoustics throughout the building to accommodate those streaming capabilities, including double-layer partitions and acoustical sealant for walls and ceilings.
CFC had a strict schedule to adhere to in order to keep their services in motion, so our work had to be done productively and efficiently. We coordinated with the owner and design team to hold pull planning sessions and weekly coordination meetings to maintain our schedule, and we were able to be beat their timeline by two weeks!
Finding success in any situation—even an underground one.
One of the most difficult tasks of the project was underground, as we installed nearly 43,000 feet of conduits to support CFC’s electric system. Each classroom within the education wing was also synchronized with the audio/visual system, with fitting coordination overlapping on top of installations! We implemented constant communication methods to stay on top of the process, and seamlessly completed these efforts.
The accelerated timeline of the project, as well as numerous design changes, could have made it difficult to complete on time, but thanks to our effective measures of quality control, as well as expert craftsmanship, the DAVIS team was successful. Loudoun County is experiencing an incredible period of growth, and CFC is a part of the community’s reinvigoration. We look forward to seeing how they continue to develop in their new home!
