Project Brief

As builders, we learn about our environment every day from soil to the materials that make up the foundations of our structures. The Nurture Nature Center (NNC) is an award-winning nonprofit in Easton, PA that gives visitors the same opportunities for learning; they provide educational resources and programming on weather phenomena, climate patterns and more. Through their efforts, they've sparked dialogue within communities and given people the tools they need to make an impact on where they live. They recently saw an opportunity to expand their programming into a new realm: outer space.

The DAVIS team is building the Earth and Sky Dome™ theatre, a 75-seat, 5,000-SF planetarium which will provide NNC visitors with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn about the vast reaches of our universe. Once open, attendees will be treated with content showings teaching the public about mathematics, chemistry, history, architecture, and so much more. After major electrical upgrades are installed, surround sound and high-resolution projector technology will give visitors a full 360-degree experience with Digistar, the world's most advanced planetarium software. The first floor of the NNC building, formerly the Strand Theatre, opened in 1915 and showed silent films--our work keeps that historic space intact during construction.

Look out for this project to be completed in late 2026, and open to the public in 2027!
