Baltimore City College High School

Project Brief
Baltimore City College is a significant educational and cultural landmark, established in 1829 as one of the oldest public high schools in the United States. Located within Baltimore, the historic institution has been an integral part of the city's educational heritage for nearly two centuries.
The educational landscape is evolving constantly, and as Baltimore City College continues to serve students while preserving its storied legacy, they wanted to modernize their facilities to reflect contemporary educational standards. DAVIS is restoring the occupied 350,000 square foot campus, providing comprehensive renovations that honor the school's rich heritage. The historic main entry will be restored, a dedicated student drop-off area will be created, and ADA accessibility enhancements will be implemented throughout. Additionally, 21st-century technology will be incorporated into existing dining, auditorium, gymnasium, pool, and theater spaces, along with a new gymnasium and support addition - state-of-the-art features that support modern learning while respecting the historic character.
