DAVIS X BGCGW

DAVIS team outside of Boys & Girls Clubs Greater Washington HQ

A fresh, comfortable space for the staff to call home.

With the collective efforts of our subcontractor community, DAVIS is bringing nearly $1M of new enhancements to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington’s (BGCGW) headquarters location, including new staff offices, technology improvements, and more. The renovations are being provided at no cost to BGCGW, and our partners, including DBI Architects and over 30 subcontractors, have graciously donated their time and resources to the project.

BGCGW has 15 sites in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, spanning 75 miles and serving tens of thousands of kids. Everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed, no matter their circumstances, and BGCGW provides an invaluable resource to underserved and at-risk youth. At DAVIS, we measure our impact by what we do for our community, and we’re proud to honor BGCGW by dedicating our services to their staff. We’re upgrading their electrical systems, plumbing, and installing new offices with glass sidelites. Additionally, the gym’s HVAC wiring will be replaced, and their conference room and team room will be fully furnished and complete with an audio-visual package. The exterior of the building is also being improved with new glass, steel panels, and a new large sign on the roof displaying the BGCGW logo. The mission of this project is to show the BGCGW staff how much they’re valued, and to give them a work environment that reflects their efforts.

“This is an organization that does so much for kids in our community, what better way to show our appreciation than coming together to make a difference for them as well.”

– Jim Davis, President + CEO

We would also like to acknowledge the generous work of our subcontractor community. They recognize the importance of this project and are providing their materials and labor for free, and we can’t thank them enough for stepping up when it’s needed most. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought severe economic challenges to local businesses like theirs, and despite those challenges, they have committed to helping this project come together.

The renovations will be complete in March, and we’re excited for the BGCGW staff to utilize their new space!
