On an overcast day last week, spirits were still bright as Ronald McDonald House Charities of DC (RMHCDC) held their ribbon-cutting ceremony commemorating the re-opening of the newly expanded House of Northern Virginia to families!

Working on this project was an incredible experience. To read about our partnership with RMHCDC, click here.

Many guests were in attendance, including representatives from Inova Health, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, and the Washington Nationals. Our very own Vice President Jon Ellen spoke on behalf of DAVIS, giving thanks to RMHCDC and all the partners involved.

The ribbon is finally cut, signaling the re-opening of the House!

The expansion and re-opening of this space is crucial as families continue to face the COVID-19 pandemic. RMHCDC’s impact on our community cannot be overstated, and we’re immensely proud of the partnership developed through building this house and the House of Washington, DC. Congratulations, RMHCDC!

Since our first meeting at the Ronald McDonald House in DC in 2018, I have been honored to be a part of this project.
