A Business Analyst/Systems Analyst in the DAVIS IT department plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the technical IT team. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that technical solutions meet the business’s needs and objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIREMENTS GATHERING + IMPLEMENTATIONS
- Gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
- Identify inefficiencies, validate solutions, and assist in implementation.
- Support product selection, testing, and user acceptance.
PERFOMANCE MONITORING + OPTIMIZATION
- Identify and communicate application inefficiencies as it relates to the business solution
- Identify underperforming application procedures and recommend solutions
APPLICATION SUPPORT + MAINTENANCE
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the application
- Ensure application operates efficiently and reliability
- Perform routine maintenance task, including updates and patches
- Collaborate within Business Solutions to address system-level issue that the application
- Ensure the Business Solutions product stack is observed and maintained
CONFIGURATION + CUSTOMIZATION
- Identifies and assists in the configuration of base applications to meet business requirements
COMPLIANCE + SECURITY
- Adhere to and reinforce corporate security policies and industry best practices in day to day operations and interactions with end users
- Ensure the application complies with relevant regulations and organizational policies
- Monitor for security vulnerabilities and coordinate with Security Awareness Program and Business Solutions Teams to address them
DATA ANALYSIS + REPORTING
- Analyze data to identify trends, insights, or opportunities for improvement
- Assist in the design and implements custom reports and data queries
- Create dashboards and reports for stakeholders to support decision-making
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards
USER EDUCATION + SUPPORT
- Helps develop education with presentation skills capable of assisting the lead in effective classroom education sessions and presenting business solutions
LIAISON WITH VENDORS + INTERNAL TEAMS
- Communicate with software vendors for technical support or to report bugs
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, business units, or project management teams
- Provide feedback to vendors for application improvements
- Responsible for licensing, software renewals, pricing and annual budgeting process
- Responsible for participating in departmental program management in areas such as: Asset Management, Business Intelligence, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Security Awareness, and Systems Maintenance
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Complete Project Charters, ensuring requirements are fully captured and that schedule and resources are fully identified
- Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with requirements
- Assist in providing post-implementation support to address user feedback and issues
SOLUTIONS DESIGN + PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
- Collaborate with Business Solutions teams to design solutions that align with business requirements
- Ensure proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and meet user needs
- Identify gaps between existing systems and desired functionality and propose enhancements
- Evaluate existing business processes and identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement
- Propose technology-driven solutions to streamline workflows and enhance productivity
- Work on automating manual processes and integrating new technologies
DOCUMENTATION
- Maintain detailed documentation of application configurations, changes, and procedures
- Document resolutions to technical problems for future reference
- Create detailed Development Requests and use cases
- Maintain clear and concise documentation for developers, testers, and stakeholders
- Develop workflows, diagrams, and models to illustrate requirements (e.g., flowcharts, UML diagrams)
- Maintain detailed documentation of application configurations, changes, and procedures
- Document resolutions to technical problems for future reference
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
- Stay updated on information technology trends, technologies, and best practices
- Provide insights into how emerging technologies can solve business challenges
- Share knowledge with team members and stakeholders to promote continuous improvement

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE + SPECIAL SKILLS
*Required
Ability to work in Rockville, MD daily for the first 6 months, then hybrid thereafter
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math or related field or demonstrated experience in providing information technology support*
Two (2)+ years related information technology experience; minimum of two (2) years supporting enterprise applications
Three (3) years previous construction industry experience, working with CMiC daily
Beginner to intermediate level coding and direct technical work on APIs/SQL/report development/etc.*
Beginner to intermediate understanding of relation databases and report design*
Previous Enterprise Level application experience (ERP, CRM, HCM, etc.) as an end user or implementer*
Ability to work independently and within a team environment and show initiative to take on responsibility when not asked*
Decision making, research and analytical problem-solving skills*
Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently*
Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective interaction at all levels within the organization*
MS Office – Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Teams experience in a professional environment *

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
