As the in-house expert, the Senior Pursuit Manager is responsible for managing all elements of DAVIS’ project
procurement response. The Senior Pursuit Manager must be able to develop, write, and edit proposals in
response to requirements derived from formal solicitation opportunities (both Federal and Private), and work
with other departments and market sector leaders to gather information required for the response. Responsible
for providing pivotal analysis and procurement expertise for all market sector groups to utilize towards the
successful pursuit of new business. Overall responsibilities include ensuring brand continuity for DAVIS through
the provision of collaborative, and detail driven, proposal development strategy and resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
NEW BUSINESS: Presentations, Proposals, and Qualifications
• Main point of contact for all RFPs and RFQs received; key liaison with Executives, Estimating &
Operations groups on upcoming potential projects
• Influence processes and policy for the pursuit of new business by actively analyzing the needs of internal
and external clients, and focus on how that may differ from market to market; utilizing lessons learned
and best practices to enhance existing processes across the company
• Manage production and updates of relevant marketing materials; production and content of resume,
reference, experience, project information and boilerplate materials per established brand standards
• Manage project information maintenance and updates through database program; track project progress;
provide project awards / development information for internal and external communication Review
RFPs and RFQs to establish an appropriate plan of action; constantly identify process efficiencies and
improvements
• Oversee and ensure the complete and accurate production and content of RFP & RFQ response
materials
• Actively review the weekly deliverable / opportunity report; advise on data integrity
• Lead and manage analysis of opportunity vs. strategic goals; advise on go / no go process
• Lead strategy and analysis of joint venture / external partnership opportunities
• Manage the opportunities process; recording, tracking and updating database program; collaborate with
IT and Employee Resource Planning (ERP) implementation groups in development of new opportunities

• Manage and consult on interview strategy and presentation preparation, in tandem with MarComm and
Market Sector Leaders
• Manage development of interview and presentation agendas and processes
• Attends and contributes to pre-proposal conferences for large submissions
• Analyze won and lost debrief feedback; utilize intel to influence future pursuits
• Assist in recommending and motivating operations staff to obtain the active participation required to
meet the deadlines for our pursuit deliverables
• Stay current on new trends in team presentation styles, procurement methods and contracts; mentor
team on any applicable updates
MARKETING: Materials and Communication
• Ensure collaboration with the MarComm in order to maintain brand integrity on all elements of the
proposal
• Lead and manage research process; consult with MarComm, Market Sector Leaders and Executives to
ensure all research needs are being met
• Manage the implementation of project specific presentation content
• Communicate needs for project photography / renderings to Brand Identity Manager
• Advise with the creation of operations focused documents as needed
• Advise on multi-media strategies as they pertain to project development
CORPORATE SUPPORT
• Perform responsibilities with excellence in service, integrity and building relationships as exemplified in
DAVIS core values
• Champion the DAVIS culture and foster this within the department
• Consult on Corporate Knowledge Center (CKC) class development; advise on Best Practice initiatives
• Provide expertise proper use of and improvements to development of corporate brand image /
presentation of DAVIS
• Ensure that initiatives for MarComm align with corporate strategy and business goals
• Maintain and maximize personal membership and event participation with key industry organizations (i.e.
Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP)
• Active in understanding DAVIS’ win theme and strategy and working to understand how that theme is
being implemented during the preconstruction and pre-sell phase of the pursuit.
• Develop the skills of other team members, and serve as a mentor to coach others when needed;
understand the skill set of others and strive to align job responsibilities to maximize those skills and
ensure proper coverage on projects
• Participate in the performance review process for reporting team members
• Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE + SPECIAL SKILLS
*Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Marketing or Construction related field*
• At least eight (8) to ten (10) years of previous experience; must have a high level of experience and
understanding of GSA proposals (SF 330) and other technical government proposal preparation*
• Prior team management experience*
• Strong technical writing experience*
• Proven ability to take on a leadership role, mentor staff and proactively identify and resolve problems*
• Strong ability to write creatively and to appeal appropriately to each audience with each message*
• Experience using MS Office 2010, various graphics and presentation programs (i.e. Adobe CS6 / Cloud,
Acrobat 9 Pro, Prezi)*
• Decision making, research and analytical problem solving skills*
• Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and
demands, and to work independently*
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the
organization*
• MS Office – Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience*
• Solid understanding of A / E / C industry, but able to offer a different perspective
• Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) and / or LEED accredited
• Interest in sustainability and community service
PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS

The employee must occasionally lift / carry / move up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment,

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$115,000.00 - $140,000.00DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
