SUMMARY:
The Project Superintendent provides leadership and assists with functions related to the onsite construction process in planning, coordination and execution of work on time and within budget. Position includes direct supervision of foreman, trade partners, and other construction related personnel within parameters outlined by the project team while maintaining a safe workplace.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six (6) years of construction operations experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience
Certifications for CPR / First Aid and OSHA 30-hour
Experience with computer-based scheduling software, spreadsheet applications, project management software, and virtual construction software
General knowledge and understanding of sustainable construction (ex. LEED)
TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Leads field meetings; fosters a collaborative work environment, and ensures all team members and stakeholders are aligned with project goals
Coordinates with trade partners, architects, property managers, engineers, other GCs, development managers, owners, vendors, and jurisdictional representatives to ensure smooth project execution
Uses visuals (logistics diagrams, and schedules) to clarify expectations, objectives, and sequencing of work
Applies comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and disciplines, including structural, site layouts, piping, BMS, life safety, lighting, HVAC, power, and inspection protocols
Manages and schedules inspections, ensuring compliance with local codes, ADA requirements, and project specifications
Reviews contract documents, submittals, material tracking logs, and specifications for accuracy, constructability, and code compliance; leads quality control programs and oversees punch list completion
Enforces safety requirements, applying OSHA and company safety standards to maintain a safe, compliant, and incident-free project site; communicates safety practices and documents compliance
Maintains project documentation, including logs, reports, inspections, daily reports, photos, and other project records, ensuring timely submission and compliance with company standards
Oversees assigned scope, ensuring timely completion with minimal supervision; leads daily huddles with trade partners and monitors sequencing to avoid rework
Monitors project milestones and schedule, creating and updating look-ahead schedules, tracking progress, and implementing corrective actions as needed; identifies schedule fragments and works with the team to adjust sequences and understand impacts
Understands project contracts, financial documentation (CORs, T+M), and scope management; reviews approved submittals, shop drawings, and scopes to resolve discrepancies and manage costs effectively
Partners with management to oversee RFIs and other project-related documents, ensuring proper scope, quality, and alignment with contract requirements; collaborates with Legal or project teams on contract or scope issues
Performs basic layout and engineering functions as necessary
Maintains positive relationships with clients and trade partners, addressing concerns promptly to enhance satisfaction, trust, and ensure repeat business
Understands the importance of their role in representing DAVIS in the field and at industry events, supporting company goals, profitability, quality standards, and safety culture

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$88,000.00 - $105,000.00DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
