DAVIS is seeking an Estimating Manager responsible for assisting the estimating teams in pursuing work through competitive bid responses.
Here’s what you get to do:
- Collaborate with Project teams to assist with competitive bid proposals
- Lead a competitive bid team
- Write scopes and develop qualifications
- Solicit and review bids from trade partners and material suppliers
- Analyze submitted responses to identify missing scope, listed qualifications, noted exclusions and work to compare equivalent bid submissions
- Secure sufficient trade partner coverage by effective communication and management
- Opportunity to perform quantity take off for a variety of building components and systems

Here’s who you are: (required)
- Experience in competitive bidding
- 5+ years’ experience in estimating or preconstruction for commercial construction in a variety of a market sectors.
- Plan reading experience
- Quantity Take-off software experience (On Screen Take-off or Sketch-up preferred)
- Strong communicator, both verbal and written, with ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization

- Experience in bidding government projects
- Experience presenting pricing information to clients.
- Strong understanding of local (DC metropolitan area) pricing
- Ability to build strong relationships with local trade partners.
- PDF editor software experience (Brava or Bluebeam preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience
- Certification by the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) program.

DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life. The base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000. DAVIS offers a 100% employer-paid health care plan (to include family), life insurance, short- and long-term disability benefits, and an annual contribution to your HSA.
