DAVIS Provides Community Outreach and Support in 2020

Jan 13, 2021

Serving our community is a crucial part of DAVIS’ values and providing support for the communities will always be essential to our culture. Throughout the past year, charities and nonprofits have played a crucial role as the COVID-19 virus brought immense hardships to the world. We have always made it our mission to support organizations throughout the DC metro area, and this year, our outreach efforts were more important than ever. We remain committed to this mission as the pandemic continues into 2021, and we will continue to make people our main priority.

American Heart Association

We have been a proud partner of American Heart Association for ten years, and with the help of 17 coaches and 115 participants we raised over $50K through AHA Greater Washington Heart Walk fundraising event in support of the fight against heart disease and stroke. Our total amount raised was ranked 3rd out of 102 DC area teams, and our very own Mike Pittsman joined the Executive Leadership Team for the second year in a row.

Calvary Women’s Services

Calvary Women’s Services empowers homeless women in DC to transform their lives through housing, health, education, and employment programs. Our volunteers ran in their In This Together Virtual 5k, and donated catered meals to residents. At Calvary’s 2020 Hope Awards, we were named Partner of the Year.

DAVIS' Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Our seventh Annual Charity Golf Tournament took place in September with 112 participants representing 26 long-time partners and subcontractors. With the help of generous sponsors, we raised over $50K this year, and the proceeds were donated to The Ivymount Foundation and Children’s National Hospital.

Jubilee Housing

We were proud to work with our long-time friends at Jubilee Housing again this year. Although we could not send in-person volunteers to be part of their Elf Store and Wish List events, we provided Chromebooks for their Back To School Store drive, and donations for gift cards for families to purchase what they needed most during the holiday season.
