Celebrating Purpose and Partnership

Jul 7, 2016

At DAVIS, we love a good reason to celebrate. From applause-worthy client and community projects to incredible employees, we’re proud to be continually recognized both locally and nationally. But as we turn 50 this year, one particular celebration was a real WOW moment for us – receiving the National Building Museum’s Honor Award.

Created in 1986, the Honor Award annually recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to our nation’s building heritage.

“Each year our honorees represent diverse missions, but are connected by their continued collaboration on charitable initiatives to improve both the health of our communities, and its infrastructure.” said Chase W. Rynd, Hon. ASLA, President & Executive Director of the National Building Museum (NBM).

When the museum, one of our longstanding nonprofit partners, selected DAVIS alongside CoStar Group, and Casey Trees as the 2016 honorees to receive the prestigious Honor Award, we were truly humbled. The NBM selection committee felt that all three companies “share an unequivocal commitment to their community, and the built environment.”

This shared commitment is front and center for our latest pro bono project: The Bunny Mellon Healing Garden Dedicated to the First Ladies of the United States, a 7,200-SF rooftop oasis for patients and family members at the Children's National Medical Center in NW Washington, DC.
