The Recruiter – Colleges + Universities will perform full life cycle recruiting from colleges and universities to drive DAVIS’ recruitment efforts to hire top talent for internship and entry-level positions. The Recruiter – Colleges + Universities will be a liaison with colleges and universities focused on building relationships with Career Services departments, professors, academic clubs, social groups, and students to promote the DAVIS brand in those communities.


Essential Duties + Responsibilities

  • Perform responsibilities with excellence in service, integrity, and building relationships as exemplified in DAVIS core values
  • Champion the DAVIS culture
  • Oversee the College Recruitment and Internship Program, and coordinate with the Corporate Knowledge Center (CKC) on college and university engagement initiatives
  • Partner with the DAVIS Corporate Knowledge Center (CKC) to create and foster relationships with college and university Career Services departments, professors, academic clubs, social groups, and students to promote the DAVIS brand
  • Responsible for the full life cycle college recruitment process including advertisement, recruitment efforts, career fairs, resume review, interviewing, and offer extension
  • Create and foster relationships with diverse professional organizations to attract and recruit qualified candidates
  • Identify guest lecturer and other strategically chosen College and University engagement opportunities for DAVIS employees in coordination with the DAVIS Corporate Knowledge Center (CKC)
  • Partner with leadership to identify DAVIS team members to attend career fairs and other related recruitment activities
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the career fairs for the DAVIS team including travel arrangements, participation in events, and providing the necessary materials to effectively promote DAVIS and recruit candidates
  • Travel to colleges and universities throughout the course of the year
  • Manage and execute the DAVIS Intern Program to ensure that all tasks are carried out timely and accurately
  • Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements and prescreen qualified candidates
  • Manage employee referral process, and referral bonus administration and communication
  • Manage and coordinate all communication with candidates and ensure proper updates through the applicant tracking system
  • Manage the scheduling and logistics of interviews between candidates and DAVIS interviewers
  • Ensure complete and accurate job descriptions are in place; review job descriptions with Director – Human Resources prior to posting; modify job descriptions, as needed
  • Partner with Director – Human Resources to develop recruiting plans; utilize traditional sourcing strategies as well as develop new, creative recruiting ideas; analyze posting outreach to ensure diversity in recruitment efforts
  • Advertise current open positions to alumni communities
  • Partner with Marketing Communications on social media campaigns, events, and website updates to enhance recruitment strategies
  • Perform detailed reference checking on selected candidates; prepare offer letters and compile offer packets for review and approval; extend offers
  • Maintain accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, searches, hiring manager interactions, and other recruiting activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws
  • Ensure applicant tracking data is complete and maintained in compliance with Affirmative Action Plan guidelines
  • Completion of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting on recruitment activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to higher noise levels and hazardous working conditions when working at job sites.  Safety precautions must be taken, and resources will be provided.

Required Skills


  • Experience with various sourcing tactics, such as social recruiting, and excellent relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge in the recruitment process, approaches, and overall strategy to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws*
  • Knowledge of the basic principles of Human Resources Administration company policies, benefits administration, and federal, state, and local laws
  • Ability to maintain confidential information*
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible work environment*
  • Decision making, research and analytical problem-solving skills*
  • Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently*

Required Experience


  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous recruiting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience*
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems
  • Experience with college recruitment and career fairs
  • Construction industry experience preferred
