| As a member of the U.S. Green
Building Council (USGBC), DAVIS weaves sustainable practices
into every aspect of our business to be a successful
steward to the environment for years to come. We are
proud to say that our LEED® committee, populated
with LEED Accredited DAVIS employees, continues
to grow, exemplifying DAVIS’ commitment to LEED
and sustainable construction. Over 30% of our employees
are LEED Accredited. In addition, we completed USGBC's
first LEED Platinum headquarters and recently completed
their new LEED Platinum headquarters in Washington,
DC. We are proud to have a continued partnership with
this invaluable organization.
Whether brought in during the preconstruction or the
construction phase, DAVIS initiates and manages team
integration meetings to discuss environmental objectives
for the project. During these meetings, DAVIS facilitates
the development of solutions that effectively and efficiently
meet the challenges of sustainability and/or LEED
certification on the job-site. We devise staging and
site access plans, erosion and sedimentation control
measures, material selection, and develop the recycling
and material installation schedule with the overall
project schedule to incorporate sustainability seamlessly
into the construction process. Our sustainable construction
goals are outlined as follows:
• Abide by local environmental regulations
• Reduce waste and foster resource efficiency
on job-sites
• Recycle construction and demolition debris to
the fullest extent possible.
• Control indoor air pollutants
• Conserve natural resources to the fullest extent possible
• Control and/or offset the effects of emissions due to construction activities
• Facilitate global efforts to reduce the reliance
of fossil fuel through the use of regional material
procurement.
Construction activities pose many environmental threats
such as wildlife displacement, ecosystem disruption,
resource stripping, poor air quality, and stress on
area landfills. Our sustainable construction programs
are designed to address and alleviate these threats
as follows:
• Waste management preparation
• Indoor air quality planning
• Site planning and resource conservation
• Subcontractor selection
• Material procurement
• Communication
Through these programs, we strive to build the best
products for our clients while sustaining our environment
for years to come. Please go to our Experience section

certified and sustainable construction projects.
