The Woodward & Lothrop Building, the former downtown home of this upscale retail department store, has long been one of Washington DC's historical character landmarks. Located on the block bounded by F,G, 10th and 11th Streets, the 'Woodies Building' has over 500,000-SF of space ideally situated for this office and retail development. DAVIS added three stories to the top of the building and completely renovated the existing 9 floors, including the installation of new heat, air conditioning, power, plumbing, elevators, and bathrooms. H+M opened their 20,000-SF DC flagship store, which occupies the first and second floor. DAVIS completed the 50,000-SF interior build-out for the Environmental Protection Agency and the 50,000-SF interior build-out for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well.
