| Potomac Center | Washington, DC 960,000-SF base building renovation 155,000-SF below-grade garage OWNER:The JBG Companies
ARCHITECT:Hickok Cole Architects
DURATION:50 Months The Potomac Center project was an extensive, phased base building renovation in Washington, DC. The renovation included the modernization of the buildings, addition of three floors, new building systems, and a complete facade package including security / blast resistant upgrades to the building and landscape. To allow the occupants to remain in the facility, the entire building was split into two towers: North and South. A wall was constructed from the garage level to the eighth floor for the final separation allowing occupants to remain in one tower while the other tower was being renovated. The first phase was the renovation of the 270,000-SF South Tower into 440,000-SF for The Department of Education. The North Tower, originally 270,000-SF, currently totals 520,000-SF.
