ARCHITECT:Envision Design
DURATION:5 Months The United States Green Building Council moved into their new headquarters at 2101 L Street, NW in Washington, DC. Designed by Envision, the scope included millwork walls composed of wood reclaimed from a lake, an internal connecting stair, two-story water wall, glass doors at offices, specialty ceilings as well as Convia lighting controls in offices and workstations to allow for daylighting and manual override control of lights throughout. An energy wheel was installed to provide a cost effective way to reduce energy consumption. Terrazzo floors in the reception lead into conference areas that have operable partitions, fabric panels, wood credenza, and ice stone counters. The entire suite was retrofitted with motorized shades controlled automatically by photo sensors. This headquarters achieved LEED Platinum under the LEED 3.0 program.
