This 24/7 mission critical , broadcast facility was constructed for Discovery Communications, Incorporated.  This 60,000-SF facility is Discovery Channel's main broadcasting location for all of its channels.  All mechanical and electrical systems are independent of the building systems.  The building has five UPS systems (uninterrupted power supplies), four 500 KW systems, and one 1,000 KW system.  The building has a pre-action fire protection system, which provides maximum protection for the computer and the electrical equipment.  In addition, an existing 2,000 KW emergency stand-by generator was upgraded and a second 2,000 KW generator was installed.
