This environmentally sensitive project entailed the construction of a new headquarters building for the National Wildlife Federation.  Solid east and west walls, with a planted green trellis sunscreen on the south facade, was built to shield sunlight during summer and allow light to enter during winder.  During construction, DAVIS minimized damage to the environment by protecting surrounding trees and gathering storm water in bio-remediation ponds.  Additional sustainable initiatives included minimal site disruption, low-maintenance landscaping, high-performance HVAC, use of day lighting, and many sustainable materials.  The common sense design approach used modern technology to create an inspiring and healthy workplace.
