ARCHITECT:Group Goetz Architects
DURATION:5 Months DAVIS completed a fast-track multi-phased build-out for The Smithsonian
Institution at the Victor Building. The project consisted of 130,000-SF of
administrative office space, 170,000-SF of museum storage space, and 30,000-SF
of special use space. The administrative areas include conference
facilities, data center, and primarily open plan office space. The museum
storage area includes 24-hour HVAC systems that are dedicated to laboratories, a
photo lab, artwork, and additional artifact storage space. The design
features high-end millwork, flooring finishes, and electrical installs.
Due to the sensitive nature of the materials stored within the building,
critical attention was given to maintaining ideal storage conditions while
construction took place. IMAGE BY:Jim Tetro Photography | |
